"An excellent example of how touch-points exploitation can generate a mass scale consumer engagement and drive relevant business results."

Beiersdorf, Italy

"With the Ragged Road webisode series, MEC generated over 400 million impressions. We had 2.2 million video views which was outstanding - the business was on fire."

Macy's

“MEC delivered the strongest response I’ve seen from an agency team. The rigour and strategic thought put into the response was clear and it surpassed our expectations. The channels suggested to reach our older media target were new channels for the brand but helped deliver the campaign’s extraordinary results."

Poultry in motion

A cable channel showing chickens roasting on a spit renewed Canadian consumer interest in a traditional restaurant chain.

The challenge

Swiss Chalet is a long-established Canadian family restaurant chain with over 200 outlets across the country. The company asked us to find a unique and contemporary way to celebrate its signature dish: rotisserie chicken.

Our insight

People not only eat with their mouths but with their eyes too.

Our solution

In partnership with Rogers Cable, we launched the Rotisserie Channel. The channel simply brought the seductive sight and sound of chickens turning on a spit into the homes of Canadian viewers but we also devised a promotional code system which invited viewers to visit Swiss Chalet’s Facebook page and redeem it.

Tracking viewer response was a key element as it enabled us to evaluate which were the most effective times to reach consumers. It also enabled us to collect data for future channel evolution.

The results

  • Channel views into the millions
  • 13,000 promo code downloads via Facebook in week one
  • Top three trending on Twitter, No.1 on Yahoo!
